Jungle

Jungle is a traditional Chinese board game played on a 7×9 board.
The game is also known as The Jungle Game, Jungle Chess, or Animal Chess, and is sometimes called Oriental Chess or Childrens Chess.A piece can move one square vertically or horizontally, but not diagonally, from its current square.
There are two 3x2 square areas of water in the middle of the board.
Other special squares are the Den and Traps.
Each player has a Den which is the middle square of the row nearest the player.
Each Den is surrounded by three Traps.The objective is to move any piece onto the opponents Den or to capture all their pieces.
You capture a piece by moving one of your pieces onto the square occupied by one of the opponents pieces.
However you cannot capture a piece which is ranked higher than the piece you wish to move.
The exception to this is that the Elephant may not capture the Rat but the Rat may capture the Elephant.The order of ranking is, from high to low: 8 Elephant, 7 Lion, 6 Tiger, 5 Leopard, 4 Wolf, 3 Dog, 2 Cat, 1 Rat.Normally only the Rat is allowed to enter the water.
However you can select an option allowing the Dog to also enter the water.
No piece can capture from water to land.
However a piece in water can capture another (not higher ranked) piece if both are in the water.
The Tiger and Lion can jump across the water from a square adjoining the water to the vertically or horizontally opposite adjoining square.
However they cannot jump over another animal which is in the water.If an opponents piece is in one of your Traps any of your pieces can capture it.
You cannot move to a square which is already occupied by one of your pieces.This app is designed for use by two humans playing against each other.
It records your moves, checks for valid moves, and lets you know when someone has won.
Otherwise it lets you get on with playing the game.Select a piece to move by touching it.
It will then be displayed slightly larger than the other pieces.
Select the destination and, if the move is allowed, the piece will be moved there.
To deselect a piece without moving it just touch it again.You can undo or redo moves at any time.
